Bio
As an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, Amy Potter handles a wide variety of criminal, civil and regulatory matters. She has extensive experience handling complex white-collar, environmental and forfeiture matters at trial and on appeal.
Prior to joining Angeli & Calfo, Amy spent 18 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Oregon, including two years as the Criminal Appellate Chief. During her tenure, she tried multiple jury trials, argued substantive motions, and handled dozens of appeals. In addition to handling her own cases, she assisted other prosecutors with complex motions and legals issues in their cases.
Representative Matters
- Successfully defended on appeal the conviction and life sentence of a defendant who was convicted of traveling to Cambodia to have sex with minors.
- Successfully defended on appeal the conviction and sentence of a defendant who assaulted two law enforcement officers with a homemade explosive.
- Obtained multiple convictions against a defendant who traveled with the intent to have sex with minors.
- Successfully defeated multiple motions to dismiss after an extensive evidentiary hearing.
